Description
The USA button on exhibit in Valley Forge National Historical Park’s Visitor Center was excavated within Park grounds. The USA button was the most notably used button for Continental Army uniforms.
First appearing in 1777, the USA button would eventually be adopted over uniform buttons representing individual regiments. The USA button reflects the growing unity and national identity emerging in the Continental Army and across the brand new United States of America.
This reproduction of the USA button is a pin made of pewter.
