What is The Encampment Store?

The Encampment Store is a cooperative partner to Valley Forge National Historical Park. We are a registered non-profit and in addition to operating the store at the Park, we also run several educational initiatives at the Park which include the popular History of Valley Forge Trolley Tour, the new Step-On Guide program and bicycle tours.

Where does the money go that The Encampment Store makes?

As a non-profit partner to the Park, proceeds from store sales go directly to the Park to support the Park’s educational, preservation and interpretive programs.

Does the website show all the products that are sold in The Encampment Store? What if I can’t find what I’m looking for?

Our website carries a limited representation of items from our store. We enjoy changing our assortment of products available online as frequently as possible. If what you see on our website isn’t what you’re looking for, please phone (610-783-1074) or email us ( and we’ll do our best to help you find what you need. Please call our store if you would like to order five or more of a single item.

What happens to my information if I register on your site? Am I going to get SPAM and other emails?

Your privacy is very important to us. We value your trust and will not share you information with any outside party. We will not contact you unless you choose to have additional information sent to you. We do not retain your credit card information. Please review our Privacy Policy for further information.

Why do you need my phone number and email address?

In the event of unforeseen circumstances which prevent us from filling your order, we want to be certain to be able to contact you as quickly as possible to let you know. We will not share this information with anyone and will not contact you for any other reason unless you ask us to.

What credit cards do you accept?

We use PayPal for all online transactions. If your PayPal account is unverified, we may contact you to confirm your order before it is shipped.  If you choose to phone in your order, we will accept Visa, Master Card, American Express and Discover. We do not accept personal checks for online or telephone purchases.

When can I expect my order to arrive?

We work to ship out merchandise within 3 business days of receiving your order. Usually, domestic delivery orders are received within 7–10 days when shipped via standard means. For international deliveries, delivery times may vary.

How will my order be shipped out?

We will ship your merchandise via United States Postal Service Priority Mail or by FedEx. If you have any special requests or require overnight delivery, please phone us to discuss shipping options (610-783-1074).

International orders are determined on a case by case basis and we encourage you to phone us to get further details about your international order.

When are you open? When can I reach you by phone?

Our store is open Monday through Sunday, 9 am – 5 pm. We are open 9 am – 6 pm from mid-June through Labor Day. Someone is available to answer your phone call during any of these hours. We are closed on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Years Day.

Is my order returnable?

We are a non-profit and a small organization. We hope purchases are made carefully so that our customers are happy when they receive their order. Things do sometimes happen where an order may not be exactly as expected. If you are not pleased with your purchase we hope you’ll return the item(s). Yes, your order is returnable if it’s received in saleable condition. Worn or used items are not returnable. Books whose backs are broken are not returnable. Items with damaged packages are returnable but may be charged a 25% restocking fee if the packaging is not reusable. Returns are accepted up to 30 days after your order has been shipped to you. All returns must be sent postage paid. The Encampment Store is not responsible for shipping charges for returned merchandise. All returns must include a copy of your original receipt and must include a note to tell us if you’d like an exchange or a refund. Refunds will be made on the credit card used for the original purchase. Returns will be processed within 5 business days of receipt by The Encampment Store.
